One of the front-runners in the Mural
10K on July 13, 2003.
The race was sponsored by The Mural
(a newspaper).
Immediately after the race, the newspaper put out a special edition newspaper
containing
pictures of the race, including pictures of the winners crossing the finish
line.
Incredibly, these special edition papers were handed out to the crowd
even before they had the award ceremony! Talk about fast!

Superfriends after the Mural 10K race.

(This picture is out of sequence time-wise, but makes
sense here.)
When I was trying to sign up for the
Mural 10K on Saturday, I met a visually impaired guy (Fernando)
who had signed up for the race, and was trying to catch a bus home from
the race headquarters.
I helped him find his bus stop.
Sunday after the race, I saw him with his dad and said
hello. He remembered me and they
invited me to breakfast the next day. The whole family showed up,
and we had a wonderful meal.
From the left are: Luis Fernando, Craig
(me), Mario (their dad), and brother Arturo.
Luis Fernando ran the Mural 10K in just over 42 minutes.
To put this in perspective, this would have almost gotten him into
the sub-seeded division of the Peachtree 10K. Wow.

Tijany Spectacular circus
show. I paid about $25 to get premium seats.

I passed this park while walking back from Tijany.
It is the Parque de las Estrellas (Park of the Stars), and a park that
I do not understand.
All the trees in the front area were cut down to a stump, except for the
tree painted red (on the right).
Maybe they cut down the trees to look at the stars? I am still puzzled.

Arcos del Milenio (Millennium Arches).
One of many great sculptures/statues in the city.
It sits at the intersection of two major roads, so it can be seen for
quite a distance.
